its my first company event, after my new lifestyle change not to mention that I have decided to stay away from junk food. My self control will be tested. Self control has always been my problem. Any tips on how I can stay and be social without eating the food. #Officialfoodaddict

One option is to enjoy it, eat whatever you like and then add 500 calorie "fast" days to your week to offset any damage done by your day today.

but them again for someone with little self control, I don't think I should even start because I won't be able to stop. Im still building my resistance/ self control muscle until its all nice and strong only then would I feel okay with eating bad somedays and not other days.

Yes. Many of us follow this method of weight/fat loss. We "fast" on 3 non-consecutive days in a week by limiting ourselves to 500 calories(600 calories for males) and this allows us to enjoy our weekends by eating whatever we want. I've lost 31.1kg since last year and still dropping. It's a very flexible way of enjoying life whilst losing weight/fat. Read up more information on www.thefastdiet.co.uk where they teach you about having just 2 of those low calorie days. We choose to have 3 such days to maximize the results.

Make small changes each week. Don't rush into all of it at once. Make mistakes and learn from them :) We all started that way. It's easier to be strict on one day that to try to be strict for 7 days in a row for weeks on end.

Hi Samy decide before hand its ok to let go one day and enjoy it and yes you will gain its ok - but get back on the horse the next day. Go check my graph the secret is in not giving up after one wrong day we are all human and we cannot stop living :)

I started off not knowing anything about calories. We learn as we go through our journey. You have many helpful people here in our community to share their experiences. Just don't hold onto the information you have been told for years as the only way to do it. Times have changed and there's so much to learn.

I have found that if I have something super healthy with low calories (like green salad - no dressing) before functions, then I am no so tempted to have a lot of the food. If I do have something I will try and focus on the protein and veg options, and avoid the fried or carby or sugary foods if possible. Don't be too hard on yourself!!! You are going to have a great night.

I have already learnt a lot BBO and you won't believe how many misconceptions I had. But thanks to you and a lot of friends here I have learnt a lot.

You can have a your diet meal before you go and then if you are full you will only have one or 2 little things. If you know that there will be healthy options then don't have your meal before hand and opt for the healthier options

Remember, you can eat a ton of food and have a 500 calorie day if you choose the right foods on that day. It becomes easier to pre-plan what to eat on such a day. There's a few ways to do it like giving up breakfast so you have lesser calories consumed in a day.
