I might need a new scale or at least new batteries. But I've had this scale for a long time. It might be time for an upgrade. At first this morning it was giving me slight variations on my weight (i tried 5 times+) - then I stepped off and wiggled the batteries in the back a little bit and it seems to be giving me a the same 231.7 each time. So that's what we'll go with while I order a new scale. Any recommendations?

Sounds like it's the batteries. I wouldn't bother with a new one until you test out what happens after installing new batteries. My digital gets flakey when the batteries are going, but testing it against "balance" scales at the dr's office and the gym, it is accurate. I see some people have scales that register .1 pound, where mine only does .2, so sometimes a new scale is tempting! But then my logical brain says both the .1 and .2 are not significant in terms of weight (fat) loss because weight fluctuates.

hey you sound obsessed like I used to be! Remember that you can be +/- 4 POUNDS just from your sodium intake the day before ,or, lets face it, if you pooped big. !

Lol it's true, I shouldn't be too obsessed, but I've been trying to weigh myself every 6-8 days. I like to skip the week of my period, though. I've had this one for YEARS and I mean years. Over 10? lol it might be time for a new one but I've only had to replace batteries twice I think so far. Maybe I just want an excuse to buy a new one. Besides the knew one is a stranger to me. It doesn't even know I gained over 150lbs. There would still be mystery in the relationship.... ;)
