Keep it up. The 5:2 seems to work for you.

It does doesn't it. I've also totally restructured my diet after lots of reading; last of the delectable mince pies are now long gone, so sugar is now virtually eliminated, as when I eat fruit I only eat just below the skin and throw away the pulpy sugary mass, no more fruit drinks, as they have as much sugar as a Cola. Bread, which causes bloating, has been substituted by oatcakes, and dairy (we weren't intended to consume cows milk) also massively reduced, so not only a 5:2 but almost a paleo too!

Have you tried Alpro Unsweetened Almond milk? I swear by it.

Somebody else mentioned that, they said it was actually better than milk, I'll try it.

Well done! I also do not drink milk and haven't done so for about 8 years...just the smell of it now makes me want to throw up! I use Rude Health Organic Coconut Drink for my breakfast cereal and use soya milk for tea and coffee - I was using oat milk, but found soya had higher fibre and less carbs.

....you also cannot use oat milk in coffee as it curdles....

I've got aome tins of coconut milk but have yet to use them, is that what you mean? Stay well away from soya milk, a good summary of why to avoid soya refined products is in the J J Virgin book, 'the Virgin diet'

No it's not just normal coconut milk that you get in a tin - it is a mix of coconut and rice milk to make what I think is the closest to what cow's milk is like in things like cereal and has the added light flavour of coconut (if you like coconut!!) - if you google Rude Health Organic Coconut Drink you can see the nutritional values of it (no sugar added)

When I first gave up cow's milk I drank soya...than a few years later I switched to oat milk and I can't remember why (I think I read something about soya not being good). But I missed having coffee and cut back my tea drinking to three cups a day - so switched back to soya as I only drink a little a day and nutritionally the soya seemed better than the oat milk

All I know about refined soya products, as opposed to straight soya beans, is that it's not good, per J J Virgin book
