Agnes Z's Journal, 26 May 2024

158.5 lbs puts me, finally, out of the obese range, with BMI just under 30. So happy to be “just” overweight! I know BMI is this artificial number to many, but it’s meaningful to me. I used “obese” as a self-descriptor in the past, to myself and others, so leaving it behind (hopefully!) is a big deal.

A bigger than usual drop, so some analysis of what might have been a factor this week: 1) increased walking, with a morning and an evening walk for an average of 3-4 miles a day, 2) food: 1550 cal a day on average, 3) finishing all the eating for the day by 6 pm and sleeping better. And drinking more water.
158.5 lb Lost so far: 49.3 lb.    Still to go: 8.5 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Great job! I’m with you on all fronts. Used to be BMI “obese” but now just a little overweight at 25.6. I also do the things you do and lately I’ve been sleeping longer (8-9hrs) and that helps incredibly.

Excellent !! Out of the obese range and into the 15x’s. You should be proud. BMI is my standard guide along with waist / height ratio.

We can do this. After leaving the obese range I have been careless and just maintaining in the overweight area. Now I need to get back to business and take off another 10 to get to the next stage. Lets do this, it does feel good to be out of obese.
