While driving yesterday I heard this encouragement about "Imperfect Progress" and realized this is the reason for my fat loss success over the last 2 years. It's the reason that after "tasting a holiday brownie" last night turned into a "4 brownie feeding frenzy", I did not wake up and continue the madness with a pound of bacon! Be encouraged!

I keep messing up with my reactions to things.
I have a tendency to process my emotions in an unhealthy way. I am either exploding with angry words or stuffing it down while saying, “I’m fine.” After many failed attempts and many cries of frustration, I realized what was keeping me from change.
It was the feeling that I wouldn’t do it perfectly. Sometimes we think if we don’t make instant progress then real change isn’t coming. Well that is not true.
There is a beautiful thing called imperfect progress. It comes when we take slow steps of progress wrapped in grace. The day I realized this, is the day I gave myself permission to believe I really could be different.
I challenged myself to just start having one better reaction each day. Little steps forward, imperfect progress, that’s what we need.
