Room service brought a large bowl of hot brown? Not sure exactly what’s in it but it’s good for 3 people. :)

If you were in Louisville it would be a Hot Brown sandwich made with Texas toast generally underneath, but some versions have 2 pieces of toast. Also, the hot brown sandwich has turkey, parmesan cheese, bacon, cream (and other stuff), spices, and sandwich vegetables. Believe they were original to the Brown Hotel in Louisville. My wife is originally from that area, and have eaten at the Brown Hotel at various times.

I was about to say the same thing as Bionici, Piper! If you are here with us in the Louisville, KY area that is a staple here! Kentucky Hot Brown! A lovely treat 😋 So delish! But im not certain after I have been seeing your meals the last few weeks on here. lol! you seem to like very healthy and fresh things. This is a very heavy dish, and a "comfort food" for sure! Welcome to the Bluegrass State! 😀

I was told it was Kentucky Hot brown - roasted turkey, charred tomatoes, mornay sauce, bacon and cheese. I picked the bacon, turkey and tomatoes. Tasted like pizza in a bowl! :)

Bionici, elw47111- yes, love the Brown Hotel! The dish looked heavy indeed! I picked the top part and didn’t make it to the bread part. If I did, I would have eaten it! 😋

Really your only like 3 hours away from me ATM right now, how 😎 cool, Piper. Hope your having a good trip. Hiyas from here in Richmond, Kentucky. If you were still there in a week I would stop on the way to Mom's to say hi 😁. Alas like two ships passing in the night. ^^

Piper, I like the Brown too! Super nice! 👌 I live over in Indiana, just 15 minutes away, across the bridge from Louisville. If you go back to Louisville again, check out the Seelbach hotel, as well. Part of The Great Gatsby was written there! Very neat place. Louisville has alot of cool history and places to visit!
