Lol every once and awhile I need that reminder that my body does not like fats /Grease at all. my body is. A carb and protein machine and it let's me know real quick when I ignore that 🤣

I have to have all 3 - fats, protein, and a few carbs. I wish I could have more carbs but can't. Mostly I need protein.

@OTB If you miss fats or think they may be beneficial in the long run, I'd try reintroducing them sparingly & gradually. If not, rock on Rockstar!

Nah I don't miss it at all but sometimes you eat what's in front of you lol I can't eat heavy foods with lots of cheese or oil used. I found my body's fuels of choice and they work fantastic when I follow it. My body would revolt if I ever tried to do keto. Everyone needs to experiment and find what works for them we are all very unique in our bodies functions.

I have been eating more fats the normal now though just because I can't keep up with the calorie needs eating a minimal fat diet

You are right, OTB, we all have to find our own paths... "to each their own...". When I first tried reintroducing some carbs, I went in wayyyy too fast. It was awful! I learned that my body had gotten used to not having them, to take it slow, and there would be an adjustment period. Good luck on the gainz! You're doing great! 🙂

When I started fat secret I was eating low carb and only eating 1300 calories a day ... for me that was practicaly a death sentence the longer I stayed here and the higher and higher I bumped up my calories and the more I dropped my fats and increased my carbs the better and better I felt and performed. I quickly realized those calories were too low but the macros took awhile to fully perfect for my bodies liking.

It's great that you've got it all figured out, OTB! "To know thyself is..." awesome! For me, on the other hand, who is pretty sedimentary (except for gym time) with a BMR of 1650 and trying to shed fat, 1300 cals is a pretty good spot, especially for rest days (as long as I get in enough protein with that). I used to hit it that low, but haven't lately because strength training (esp leg day) makes me HONGRY...lol.

ZenusWarriorPrincess I have learned that I will never have it all figured out 😆 just constantly learning from my mistakes and trying to figure out how not to make them again

It's a balancing act OTB, I'm learning that more and more every day, the tweaking is necessary!!

@honeebuns Have you ever heard of the thermal effect of protein? Our bodies burn up 20-30% of the calories of protein just digesting & mobilizing it. This may play a part in you being able to up your calories, if it coincided with upping your protein.
