@StormsGirl - Just remember, your body will process carbs and sugar for energy before it uses fat reserves. If you have excess glucose, it will be stored as fat. By cutting carbs, you force the body to rely on fat reserves for energy.

You're looking mighty fine. For me, weight lifting was the key. I eat the same....85% healthy.

@DLonggone - No fruits and very, very few vegetables, and Nlno grains. I might eat the occasional serving of greens, cabbage, spinach, etc. That is a rare occurrence. Think carnivorous.

WMOOOOO…Yes, that is true. Sounds like you are on a carnivore diet. The carnivore diet FASCINATES me and I’ve researched it quite a bit. For now, I just can’t see living without certain veggies, fruits, and nuts.
My favorite fruits and vegetables that are a staple in my current diet are green apple, pineapple, blueberries, banana, avocado 🥑 (mostly avocados!), broccoli, red peppers, and brussel sprouts.
I enjoy any type of nuts🥜 🌰 but almonds are my favorite.
Can you have COCONUT MILK on carnivore? I put canned Thai coconut milk and coconut oil in my coffee daily.

Ok. I read prior comments where you mentioned tomatoes, onions, and spinach. So then keto?
04 Nov 23 by member: StormsGirl

@StormsGirl - Not Keto, per se because I do not follow all the rules of that diet. Be careful with nuts. For instance, 1 oz of cashew have 10 g of Carbs. Who eats just 1 oz of cashews? Since I do not consume coconut milk, I don't now but the carbs look low if you get the unsweetened variety. I have only drank water since January. You have to keep those toxins from accumulating in the blood.

I don’t eat cashews too often. Yes, I get the unsweetened kind.
I agree about the toxins.
I’m a big kimchi eater too. For gut health. Eat lots of garlic, too.
I do measure nuts and PB.
I measure or weigh everything I eat and started that in 2021 when I discovered I had type 2 diabetes. It’s not only what you eat, but how much. I was an over eater!
Off diabetes meds 7 months into my health journey. Manage blood sugar through diet and exercise now.
What started your health journey if you don’t mind me asking?

Also, may i ask your age? Your after pic looks like you lost 10 years. I rarely eat meat other than chicken and that very little of but it sounds like you have it figured out. Do you find yourself craving foods that are off your woe?

@StormsGirl - Long story short, lots of chronic inflammation issues. Lack of mobility and steroids is a nasty mix. Believe it or not, my highest weight was around 445 lbs (202 kg). I dropped down to 200 lbs, 3 years ago, before going back on steroids. I was walked around 150 miles a week and I could eat anything I wanted. It wasn't common for me to walk 20 miles before work and take longer hikes on weekends (DC to Harpers Ferry, WV is able 50 miles). I could cover that distance in 12 hours. Research Robert Kennedy walking this distance through snow and slush.
I'm bouncing around 250 lbs right now (no cardio...just lifting). Texas doesn't have an interconnected network of trails like the Mid-Atlantic region.

@WM0000 Can you tell me what your diet consists of for breakfast, lunch and dinner??? Also you look great…

@SneakrBum - The concept of breakfast, lunch, and dinner doesn't exist for me. I simply eat food between 7 am and 5 pm.
Today, I went to the gym at 5 am. At 7 am, I ate 5 slices of thick-cut bacon. At some point before 9 am, I had 6 oz of beef ribeye. While riding my motorcycle most of the day, I snacked on Old Wisconsin beef sticks (I don't know how many) and fried pig skins (I didn't measure). After a day of riding, I had another 6 oz of ribeye. The last time I ate was around 5:30 pm today, which was about 4 hours ago.

@jenjabba - Not new. I've been using this app ever since Livestrong shut down (about 10 months ago?).
I'm not an influencer. I've just been observing and noticing some major mistakes in people's journey, such as restricting calorie intake to ungodly levels or consuming things that aren't conducive to good health.
Chances are, I will not make another post for several weeks or months. I had some free time today and thought I would offer my two cents.
