Hello friends, I am reporting in from maintenance land. Things are a little rocky here, but I seem to be holding my own so far. I find I have to force myself to stick with the WOE that got me here. Temptations have grown rather than receded. I have the feeling like I am allowed a little more, but that can easily lead to a LOT more and that is what I am working to avoid.

I attended a friend's wedding yesterday and, as I was deciding what the wear, I had the pleasure of trying on dresses that have not been flattering for years and they fit! I had my pick of nice outfits instead of selecting the one that looked the least awful! :)

I would guess that maintenance could be a tricky road, haven't gotten there yet. Seems like you are working out your path there, keep up the good work that got you to where you are. Congrats on being able to pick and choose your outfit for the wedding!

Training your mind and body to eat the proper amount of calories is like training to run a 5 k. Choose a feasible plan. Plan for the unexpected day. Balance, balance, balance. Train yourself to be satisfied with the proper portion and move on.

Greetings from the Land of the (Hopefully) Lost (i.e., still need to lose)! Maintenance land sounds a bit like walking a tightrope . . . unfortunately, I wouldn't know since previous weight loss success was met with a 'Yay - I'm finished!' attitude that soon 'exiled' me. But, I'm BETTING that a couple of successful weeks in maintenance and you'll feel more on solid ground and it will eventually become more 'automatic;' and (ironically) by Halloween, maintenance will no longer seem such a 'scary' place to be. ;) We're with you, supporting you and cheering you on!

Izzy, congrats on the clothes for the wedding!! My take on things:: Do some tweaking and come up with something you can live with forever. It really should not be hard if you have a lifetime change, it should fit your life. There is no end it just keeps goin and goin. I've been that route of a diet with an end, gained it back plus. I wrote down some general lists. What I like to eat, how I like to cook, what items I could not eat, also a plan for eating out or at other's homes. It is tweaked as my life goes on and it is working for me.
