Hey Guys! Just wanted to give you a heads up to be cautious again about large gatherings, we have 3 hospitals in a 50 mile radius of us and the word is that our small hospitals are full and if there is a serious emergency you have to be flown out by air to a larger hospital. Beds are full, ER patients are stuck in the ER. No reports of deaths from it, but Covid is making a run through this area. Take precautions when around people with a cold.

Stillmore, GA...since no one is tracking it anymore it's hard to tell if its really wide spread, it may be a mild version, but we have not had an outbreak like this since November of 2021 in this area

We're seeing it here too in New England. I was exposed. Someone in my writing group sent out an email after our last meeting, that they'd tested positive. So, we all sat around a big table together for two hours. But, it's been a week, so I'm hoping it's all Okay.

Wow, so we have the top of the country, Southern east coast, near west coast....sounds like it's pretty wide spread.

Got my new vaccine on Monday afternoon. Plan to avoid crowded settings. Here in Chicago, the infection rate among boosted people is near zero, but not actually zero. Just got a text from a good friend whose husband has COVID. He is a musician playing in large venues -- so it's kind of amazing he didn't get COVID sooner. He is taking Paxlovid. I was fully vaccinated, but still got COVID in December 2022 after sitting in a hospital waiting room for a necessary procedure for about 20 minutes. 4 days later -- bam. It was not fun -- but it wasn't terrible either, thanks to vaccine and Paxlovid.

Numbers are up here in Southern California as well. My daughter just got it on her flight from Michigan to California. She started developing symptoms the night she got home. Pretty sick for 3-4 days. She was just here 4 days. For those who choose to mask up in certain settings, remember that those little blue masks do nothing for Covid. Most effective is N95 and a little less effective but still decent is a KN 95.. N95 for me when traveling.

I know of two cases here where one family member got it and no other family members came down with it, though they were in close contact. Everyone was testing, so it wasn't a situation where they had symptom-free cases.
