Good Morning FS Warriors! Day two of my weekly 84 hour fast, I woke up in a good mood this morning, almost fell out of the bed because somehow the leg elevation pillow and I had managed to move all the way to the edge and swinging my feet off the pillow had too much of my body extended over thin air!!! I managed to get my feet on the floor before the rest of me crashed down....nothing like springing out of the bed in the mornings!!! Even if it was not on purpose! So, once again I had a good sleep legs swelling free and super easy to pull on my compression socks. Had a nice ride on the bike. I'm not moving past 25 minutes at the moment, I am doing about 9-10 miles in that 25 minutes depending on how upbeat the music is on 70's on 7, for some reason, disco makes me pedal faster LOL! I have that lovely empty feeling again, I cooked Hot Wings for hubby, unbreaded with homemade buffalo sauce. I use butter, Franks hot sauce and vinegar to make a tangy tasty sauce for them. I had no hunger or urge to sample. This is amazing for day 1 for me. I am thinking that I am finally becoming Keto-adapted now after doing this for nearly two months. I got my keto meter in yesterday and it is consistently showing me at 2.6 mmol/l. I'll take it 😍 Mine is a breath meter, not as accurate as blood, but I did not want to have to be constantly buying testing strips. I don't need to know exactly how many ketones I'm producing, just that I am producing them 😉 TaTa for now! Ya'll have a Fast-tastic day!

You are doing awesome! I just did a 24 hr fast, and broke it after harvesting blackberries and blueberries from my yard. We had berries and yogurt for a summer dinner last night. I had a ribeye for breakfast, then I think another 24.

Cool Erika, I forget that you guys are in Maine and your harvest season is later than ours. Our blueberries and blackberries have been gone for over a month now and they are an awesome summer choice. I usually just whip up some heavy cream and smother them in it...so very yummy and refreshing! Nothing like eating stuff grown in your own yard!

84 hour fast, lady you are a machine.

It's not really that much Wayne, I do 12/12 fasting nightly, On my eating days it's more of a 15/9 because I don't eat till about 10 AM and I aim to eat two meals per day. So when I do my 3 day fast, I am actually only adding 36 hours to what I already do.....If that makes any kind of sense to you whatsoever 😜. Just saying, it's not that far of a reach. Now next week I will only be fasting two days out of the week Thursday & Friday, eating on Saturday and Sunday, then doing a 160 hour fast Sunday night-Sunday morning. That one is a reach! I did one last month and I am planning to have them monthly for a while....we shall see

Ooooh wow I thought you didn’t eat for a full 3 to 4 days ok that makes so much sense I thought you were somekind of a monk the longest I ever did was 7 days no food bu that was 23 years ago and it was a spiritual fast ok thanks Debra makes so much sense.

She doesn't eat for 3+ days LOL and while not a monk, she is a saint. She rescues critters and spreads love and support all across FS ❤️

LOL, see I knew that would not make sense I do go from 7 pm Wednesday night till 7 am Sunday morning without eating, But I don't eat at night anyway, so all I have to do is make it through 12 hours each day with nothing but coffee and water. I miss 6 meals, when you break it down like that...it's much easier to wrap your head around. @Lady D, I am not a saint LOL, just ask hubby!!! He has 38 years experience!

Maybe reach your foot to the side-edge of the bed tomorrow am. to feel if you're over the edge before trying to get up. Don't want you falling out of bed! That would Not be a good start to your day!

@Deb... I can visually see you "springing to your feet"! lol 9-10 miles in 25 minutes?! That's just grand! I haven't had chicken in a while. Those chicken wings sound awesome! I sometimes use Chipotle peppers, tomatoes, onions, and garlic. Saute them in butter, add a lilttle salt & paprika & then blend them with little apple cider vinegar for a sauce. 🤤 You are doing great with your fasts! It's kinda cool to know what's going on with your ketones, huh?? Nice levels there!

Saint debrafrederick?🥰. Sounds sweet. If someone has dubbed you that even once in your life it’s probably true! Congratulations on not falling out of bed that would have been one way to start your day! Great work!

LOL Thanks guys! YOH, no where near it, but I do try to be kind....mostly! Depends on my irritability level! @Jams I'm gonna feel for the edge in the morning BEFORE I swing my feet out and make sure I have enough room for my bottom on the edge of the bed, I'm still too heavy to be doing much springing! I don't want to injure myself any further than I already have. @Zen, hubby has been home this week doing honey-do's around the house, since he's not in town to scrounge his own food, I gotta cook. Wings are his favorite, he wants nothing with them, just a big plate of wings. The dogs sit at his feet and watch every bone he cleans and sets aside. They want them so bad....nooo chicken bones for doggos, poor babies, they are so abused!!! My ketones are not as high as I hoped they would be , but they are there, that is really all I need to know. I am burning fat and I am doing it with comfort and ease now....so all I gotta do is keep going 😁

@Deb... my hubby is the same way when it comes to wings. Well... except he HAS to have his tortillas...lol. Poor babies...lol. I think you're doing great with ketone levels! They might be even higher with the blood meter, but you're right knowing they are there is the important thing! I don't know why mine gets so high. It honestly concerns me a bit. Not because they are high, but why, especially when I look at Dr. Boz ratio. I'm often around & sometimes under the cancer patient recommended range of 20. Like, "does my body have some type of something that really needs to be repaired so badly that I am producing extra ketones"?? Probably insane, I know, but at the same time we both know how smart the body is. I tested mine yesterday before going to the gym (4.4) & after (3.4). They went down an entire point, but I know that's because they were used for energy. Anywhooo... have a beautiful day, sis! 😘

Actually working out causes you to produce glucose, which will temporarily reduce your ketones, once you use up all the glucose your body made to feed your muscles, it will go back to burning fat. If you did a glucose reading while working out you would have noticed your glucose was higher than it had been.

@Deb... I did. I think the BG was 3 points higher, not a big difference.
05 Aug 23 by member: ZenusWarriorPrincess
That is about the same jump I noticed after riding my bike, fasted, my BG jumps a couple of points seems weird for it to do that when you have had no food for a couple of days. LOL I seem to forget that my body is an energy creating machine and I have stockpiles of the raw material for it to create more energy, we are amazing creatures.

LOL, I love the way you speak of 3 points higher as not being a big deal. Dr.'s tell you that a morning fasting glucose of 125 means you are pre-diabetic, and a fasting glucose of 126 means you are diabetic, one little point makes the difference, so 3 points is fairly significant when you are in ketosis. It's not a bad thing! But it is something! Means your body is operating as it should be 😁😁😁

Yes, Deb, we truly are amazing creatures! I guess 3 points could be a defining moment in a situation like that. I guess it wasn't such a big deal to me because it went from 91 to 94 in my case. I don't worry about it too much as long as it stays <100.

Debra, I don't think that the breath meter is analogous to the blood meter. The breath meter is measuring acetone in your breath and the blood meter is measuring betahydroxy buterate. BHB. They're two different kinds of ketones, both simultaneously present, but not comparable #'s.
