KiwiLovie's Journal, 24 March 2023

Yesterday marked 2 weeks down of tracking calories & taking Mounjaro. 6 lbs lost. I need to learn how to calculate my recommended macros. I have never tracked them in the past & I've heard/read that it's very important along with a calorie deficit.

My PCP called with the referral to a Bariatric surgeon & online link to fill out patient profile. I hope I qualify for Gastric Sleeve, but trying not to get too excited so I won't be let down if I'm not. Thanks to all of you who post your progress. It's greatly appreciated.

Calculating macros is very important! During my weight loss journey, I was doing well but after about 2 weeks I was stuck not losing weight wondering why. After some research, I found out macros are why I was eating way too many carbs and far too less fats and proteins. Finding the right balance will lead to even greater success. I wish you luck and I hope by a few months you lose a reasonable amount of weight remember the key is dedication and hard work :)

thank you, Michael. After reading your comment, I did some research on macros & and adjusted them here on my plan accordingly. I had stalled over 10 days & after the macro change I was down 4 lbs the next week.

Congrats!! Be warned though - now that you are figuring out your macro's and losing weight again you may not fall into the category of requiring the surgery. I know that nearly a year ago my BMI put me in that category to qualify but I told my GP that I didn't want that surgery. Last month my GP told me I no longer qualify for that surgery - that was a big yahoo from me hearing that. We all want to loose the weight quickly but it took us years of mismanaging our diets that lead us to that point. I think we can all take the extra time required to loose the weight responsibly and relearn our new food lifestyles without having invasive surgery. Just my thoughts ;)
