Toni Bourlon's Journal, 16 September 2022

Well I didn't get the job I wanted - and I really, REALLY wanted this job! I've been crying, and am not currently too concerned about tracking and/or weight control. Probably will be back on that tomorrow, but I'm not sure about the job search. Hubby & I will be okay if I don't get a job, but we will have to do some SERIOUS belt tightening. A kind FS person suggested I apply at Starbucks, well I might just do that next week. I have one more interview scheduled for Tuesday, order fulfillment for a grocery store. I'm not thrilled about it, but I'll take it if they offer it. Anyway, sorry, just feeling a bit sorry for myself, tomorrow's another day.

Now,, using the method of choice for communicating with this companies contact, send that person a note thanking them for the opportunity to apply and interview (if you did interview). Then ask them if there ways a specific area that you need to improve on that might increase your chances of being hired should a similar position come up? HR people remember that. I don’t know what kind of a job you had applied for, but that kind of follow up sticks in the memory bank.

keep trying for jobs and don't let it get you down. I have applied at many jobs lately with no luck but assume it's my age but I keep trying.

I agree with Kenna! Follow up with the best thank you and in the most professional way (your way) let them know you are still interested. The door is never fully closed and every interview is a learning experience.
