Random stuff today...
Yesterday I had an evening cardio workout mixed in with resistance bands. Two birds, one stone: I binge-watched episodes of Hell's Kitchen with Gordon Ramsey. For 2 hours I did tons of calisthenics and dancing in between sets of "lifting." Was actually kind of fun, and you don't even need the volume on the show since half of it is bleeped out cussing.
When did they start putting fat people in commercials?
Have never cooked okra, but it's up there with Brussel sprouts in terms of nutrition, so it's on my grocery list. Breakfast was 2 big mangoes, lunch will be 8 oz. of edamame with salt and rice vinegar. Following my Plan B to drop the recent weight increase.
Working from home now, do not have airconditioning (typical of SoCal homes by the beach). Will go for a walk at lunch, since today I won't offend co-workers with sweat or smells. 🥵
Update: Went for a 30 minute walk and did a 30 minute Pilates session that I found on Tubi. For those that want a free workout in their livingroom, there are tons you can search up on demand on your television through Amazon Prime, YouTube, Tubi, etc. My favorites are yoga, Pilates and Barre Method.

It's cool & breezy at the ocean, guys. About 2 weeks a year it hits the 80's. Today it's 81 degrees and all I need is the ceiling fan. But my office is 1 mile to the East, and that's a 8-10 degree hotter difference.

I read one of Ramsey's cookbooks and enjoyed it.

I love getting ideas for recipes from cooking shows. Also it reveals the dark side of restaurants, like when the chefs scoop half a cup of butter into a pan to baste a single lambchop. Agree about Ramsey's cookbooks, @Morticia. And less toxicity🙂

I used to do the walking tapes with Paul Eugene on Amazon prime. They used to be free but no longer😩 I'll have to check out Tubi.

They put overweight people in commercials because 2/3 of Americans are overweight and they want to sell products to them. Of course, with so many people being overweight, this also means that being overweight is normal. Even if it wasn’t, I don’t understand the need to judge other people and say offensive things about them. It says nothing about overweight people, but a lot about the character of those making the comments.

For those who took economics or who work in the advertising industry, it is standard to use puppies, babies, and sexy people to sell products. It encourages the consumer to equate the product with happiness or desirability (beer commercials being an obvious example). Unless the item is medication, it seems counterproductive to use big actors.

That’s if you took economics and marketing in the the 80s and 90s. If you take it now, you’ll learn consumers connect more strongly to the products when they see people who look like them.
