AuntieJan's Journal, 04 May 2011

I have really pushed myself pretty hard at the gym the last 3 sessions, and I am fairly sore as a result. I only did stretching and treadmill today, skipped the weight machines to give my muscles a bit of a rest. I did 50 minutes varying my pace from moderate to brisk to jogging, and cooldown. I added some new music to my iPod last night and I am enjoying the change. I do so much better when I have the music to keep time with, so I base my selections and place them in the lineup according to my routine. My feet just naturally move better with tunes.

I am now a two bra woman... the exercise bra I mentioned before just wasn't enough to stand the test of time and of the load they were asked to bear. LOL! So, the sports bra goes on first and one of my sturdier regular bras (that used to be too small for me) go on top of that. Does the trick. Girls are happy again... I was tired of hearing complaints.

Spent the afternoon doing yard work and laundry, I made potato salad and grilled chicken for supper, fruit on the side. We have had little rain so I turned the sprinklers on, probably will tomorrow too. Within a few weeks we will into our summertime pattern of afternoon T-storms, and with that comes the heat. Our pleasant temps will not be so pleasant by the end of June, but I'm used to it. When the going gets tough, the tough go to the beach!!!

Staying home from the gym tomorrow, have housework and cooking to do, my BIL's college buddy is visiting tomorrow and I want to make something good for them to eat, plus the floors need to be swept and mopped.

I guess no moss will grow under my feet this week!

Have a super night, and remember.... WE CAN DO IT!!!!

Onward.

Good evening, Auntie Jan! I am happy for you! Getting your girls and their complaints straightened out is a major accomplishment. You are really going full speed ahead on your exercise! I get worn out just thinking about 3 hours of yard work, not to mention the rest of it! I think I need to wear a big red "L" for lazy on my forehead! God bless you for taking such good care of your family. Being able to do so is quite an achievement in itself. Have a good night my friend.

Same to you Pam, I knew you appreciate the humor about the girl's complaints! Nope no "L" is allowed on your forehead, I say put a "W" for "Wonderful", or "Winner" No negative thinking here in AuntieJanLand! ;O)

I am glad you are listening to your body & giving those tired muscles a break, while you work on different ones. I just can't help but chuckle about your girls complaining! I had same issues while running. I was reading about sport bra design & how far behind or non existant research was, but supposedly that is changing & the manufacturers are trying to study the situation, then they can sell us their new ideas! I used music too while excercising on the eliptical (which is off limits for a while yet), huge difference without music or the wrong music! Happy evening to you!
