I could get used to these "day off" things. Two Thursdays in a row! I'm waiting for my boss at the restaurant to decide she can't live without me and start scheduling me on Thursdays again. I hope she can live without me. Right now I'm just working Sat and Sun mornings for her. It was getting to be too much. Over the last two years I think I've had about 10 days off. I'm finally at a place with my route job that I can afford to loosen the belt a little. IRONY! Loosening my belt at work, tightening it on my pants! HAHAHA! Cracked myself up. Tired.
ANNYway...I'm experimenting today. Again. My birthday is in a few days and in my family you get to pick what to have for the weekly family dinner. My big family (15 people in all) gets together at the parent's house for dinner every Tuesday. We all still live in the same town that my ancestors settled. We are weird. I digress. Normally my Dad does the cooking, but seeing as I am vegetarian, and my Dad doesn't speak that language, I'm cooking. LONG story long, I'm going to attempt to make my own vegan butter, to make vegan puff pastry, which I am then going to make into vegan pot pies. i hope. Cross your fingers for me. I'm going to also make lentil sloppy joes and balsamic glazed brussels sprouts. I'm anticipating much leftovers because my Dad said he will make spaghetti and marinara sauce for the people who eat real food. -_- I made him promise no meat in the sauce. My family can suck it up for my birthday! I'll let you know how the butter-puff-pie turns out
