37 degrees and breezy. Pedalled out here 11.8 miles to my weight loss destination S'Bucks only to find it temporarily closed. Massively annoying. Am sitting in McD's thawing out with a large coffee but it just ain't the same. In pursuit of 1700 road bike miles. Should have over 1670 by the time I get home.

Serendipity! I went to a Starbucks today and it was temporarily closed too🤣🤣🤣

YF, that is amazingly serendipitous. How can Starbucks afford to close for a day? What gross revenue do they lose? $10K, $25K? I know it depends a lot on location but this is across from a shopping center and always jammed! Aaaargh!!!

I have to check the Starbucks app regularly for my local Starbucks, as they are unexpectedly closed frequently due to Covid. Either their employees are too lackadaisical or being located across from John C. Lincoln Hospital puts them at high exposure risk. Not sure, since Grinders (our local coffee house pre-Starbucks interloping) doesn't seem to suffer from the same issue.

Jeannie, Its true that S'bucks and numerous fast food/lower wave spots are suffering from regular lack of staff. My closest to home S'Bucks randomly but frequently does not allow mobile ordering due to short staffing. The drive through is open but the line extends out onto the main road and 'patrons' routinely block one of the two available traffic lanes. Irritating and dangetous.
