How did you hurt your ribs? Walking and swimming are great low impact - either of those appeal to you? Sorry you're not feeling good - hang in there!

I would suggest swimming as well, and maybe just some stretching exercises. Do you have your ribs wrapped, you will probably need someone to help you to get it tight but it will feel a lot better once it is done, and you may feel up to doing a little more too. I hope you feel better soon!

Are you using your inhaler? I have bad allergies and asthma and 15 minutes before working out I just use my inhaler. I love to run outside, but some days when the pollen is high, its difficult. Swimming is a great option for low impact or the eliptical.

Thanks for the idea. Swimming never came across my mind. The doctor isn't sure what happened. It is just the cartilage that is between my breast bone and ribs got swollen/irritaged. Takes 3 to 6 weeks to heal. I can just take aleve and that helps. Now I have my cough from may astsma. I can't get it under control. I am on my 2nd round of steriods. I have had asthma before but never the cough like this. I am also on Advair and Albuterol. How do you get your cough under control?
