! year+ I have not lost any thing-- No one to blame but me. Depression & COVID have held me captive! BUT now I must do something. I cannot walk far without feeling like I am gasping for breath. My knees and right hip are in pain more than I care to admit. When my knee pain wakes me up at night - it really is time to do something- and that is lose the weight. I have to be honest and confront my hubby. Who has the very best intentions when he buys me the goodies and sweets. But I can not continue to do this any more.. I am slowly killing myself with a fork and food.
Contacted the local gym to see if they are still accepting Silver Sneakers members. MUST DO THIS AND DO IT NOW ----NO MORE EXCUSES!!!

I really understand. My only way is to focus on today. The next meal is the only decision I have to made today. For me, "Do it just for today" lead to today and today and today. I hope never to loose sight of that notion. Can't change the past. Can't predict. Today- well lived- gives me comfort in its moments and hope for the future. Godspeed to you. Thank you for your post. Really helped me focus on the important✌️

I'm 68 and my knees & back hurt all the time. I lost my son, 41 last July. (brain tumors). so after 6 months of depression and gained 50 lbs. This really disappointing me, I had previously lost 140 pounds in 2007. "Step by step. meal by meal " was my motive. then in 2015 I had both my shoulders replaced. That put me off exercising. So this July I'm trying to lose as much as I can. Got my first grandchild in February and I am soooo happy!! You can do this, get some fruit. watermelon & a good chef salad. You can do it!

Complete understand. I’ve been doing in my own style some seating workouts I found on Youtube. Step by step is the way, just doing what you can. Like your attitude.

Wow, I’m sorry that 2014 wasn’t sufficient motivator but certainly better late than never. Wish you the best.

Hi Lynda. I'm 61 years old and my weight (340) was impacting my knees and mobility. On May 3rd, 2021, I decided to make a lifestyle change I could live with. Started slow. Measured the sugar & creamer in the coffee, watched the salt content, ate more fruit & veggies, less bread, pasta & carbs, gave up processed foods, more low fat items, counting calories, you get the idea. Small changes. As of this morning I'm down 28 pounds and feel so much better. I don't crave the sugary foods. I'm surprised that I'm actually sticking with it. You can do this too. Start with changes you can manage and before you realize it the scale will show your progress. Slow and steady! Wishing you well on your journey.

Gosh, know how you feel. Hang in there..I thought we would be in a better place with most people vaccinated. I am 66 years old, starting slow has helped. I chose the balanced plan. starting at 2200 calories a day. now at 1800 calories a day. upped walking. one compound ex a day. weight headed in the right direction. upped protein to 30 percent. I no longer give up any food, I enjoy. but try to show restraint. Never give up! Get up and keep trying, fall off the wagon, get up. try again!
