Good Morning, FS Warriors! Ran 3.0 miles this morning at less than 70% MHR. Unfortunately, I did it on the treadmill. It was cold, nasty and raining outside, and I've become too much of a wimp. 45 minutes seems like a lifetime on the treadmill though. Tomorrow is a rest day, and though I won't be resting, I won't be running. I have noticed, since I've started this HR Training Plan, I no longer get winded going up the stairs at work, and I don't find myself taking deep breaths for 3 or 4 minutes, to get my breathing back to normal.

Last night, the plumbing outfit came over, after I got back from worship practice, to take some measurements for the new furnace. They probably started about 8:00 this morning, and should be done before I get home. Although it's not going to do me a lot of good this summer, it will be so great to work in a comfortable environment this winter. The doggies will appreciate it also. It just irked me to spend over $500 a month for kerosene heating one big room for the dogs, when it only cost that much to heat the other 5,000 sq feet in the coldest month (it's a schoolhouse, remember?).

Anyway, the rain continues, and it could go as low as the 30's tonight. May is always such an unpredictable month. In any case, it feels especially cold when we've seen high 80's already. DW didn't cook last night, and brought me home a burrito and soft shell taco from Taco Bell last night, so, being the dutiful husband that I am, I ate them. Took me right up to my RDI. I guess that's OK as far as calories go, but since starting to watch my sodium intake, it's gotten a whole lot more complicated. Well, here's hoping you all have a wonerful day. Toodles!

BTW, just did some google'n and found this: Generally, a pinch of salt would be 1/16 Teaspoon according to most chefs. One level teaspoon of salt contains approximately 6,200 mg sodium chloride, or approximately 2,400 mg sodium. Just dividing 2400 by 16 would be 150 mg of sodium in a pinch of salt.

It's amazing how much sodium is already in the foods we eat, in particular processed or pre-packaged foods. I'm on BP medication, I hope that in losing weight I might be able to come off of it eventually.

I'm with you, Jmb. that would be great if you could get off of the meds with diet and exercise. My doc is holding off to see if diet and exercise will do it for me. Yeah, Bella, isn't it?
