It was a revelation to me to realize that exercising constantly will not shed any pounds if you don't make big changes to your diet. I had been doing an hour moderate to intense workout every day for nearly 2 months and I was spinning out around the same pounds for nearly just as long. I had some success counting calories but the results were taking much too long. I think everyone has to find a diet that works for them. Even though I am trying a keto/vegetarian diet at the moment I think by creating a major caloric deficit and maintaining a state of ketosis has helped me to really see results in the past week. I now only do 30 minutes of cardio now and then spend 30 or 40 minutes strength training with rest days in between where i may only do the cardio or take a 30 minute brisk walk. In all honesty my energy has dipped during the prolonged fasting but not as much as I expected and the high fat diet keeps me full much longer than my usual diet which consisted of lots of carbs. When I hit my ideal weight I will switch back to a healthy carb rich diet and see if I can maintain weight with portion control and occasional fasting. This journey has made me realize I can meet my goals and exhibit more self discipline than I thought possible.

I hear you! I have been in the gym regularly the last 6 months and have not lost any weight. I have toned up so I figure I am losing some weight and gaining muscle. It was the start of March that got me checking the amount of calories I eat. I too am trying to be in a calorie deficit. Good luck with the new diet. I am going to get more data and then re-evaluate mine. Keep up the good work.
