as a side note..i also added carbs back into my diet (healthy ofcourse,) but I'm thinking I may be carb sensitive! I just can't seem to loose consistently.

If you had cut carbs and added them back in that can account for some fot he weight too. Any one who goes low carb and adds them back in will see a gain. You have to add them back in slowly and try to keep the glycemic index low. I would talk to the doctor and if you can afford it, maybe see a nutritionist who specializes in this type of thing to help you get started. Also, google all kinds of articles on the subject to see if you pick up some information to help you. Knowledge is power. Good luck!

I agree with what suzi161 said. When you are restricting yourself, you have less glycogen in your blood stream. When you eat more carbs, you get more glycogen. The glycogen molecule must attach itself to water molecules so the more glycogen... the more water which is what you are seeing. It may very well be that your diet was too restrictive so you do have to eat more. You may have to accept the initial weight gain, knowing that this will help you lose more later. Since you have thyroid issues... this is a wild card, so the doc/nutritionist's advice is essential.

Ali, Matt said so well. Don't go down below 1200cal although you may feel scared about your gaining. It is worth the money to see a nutritionist. Hope you get to find a real good one for I disagree with some of them.. Have a great rest of the week!
