GlennM's Journal, 09 October 2010

Doing well. I will start counting calories and putting them on here daily to maintain some sort of balance. The weather has been nice the past few days after three straight days of much-needed rainfall early in the week. This weekend on Sunday my friend Bruce may take me shopping to a giant store where the prices are cheaper - it's fourteen miles from where I live. I need to make certain to buy enough vegetables as I don't have many now, and especially food to make salads with daily...
Calories for Friday October 8, 2010: 1600.
P.S. - My mother's brother and wife are moving to Arizona soon, they're my uncle and aunt. They are the other set of grandparents of Judge Judy's grandchildren. My cousin's second wife is Judge Judy's daughter, they're now divorced and had three kids together, I met the youngest two maybe briefly twice ten years ago, they're my second cousins. The oldest was adopted by my cousin, who was in that marriage before anyone had any major celebrity status...

I hope you will follow the doctors orders and get right back into line Glenn. You know better than any of us exactly what you have to do. Good news about family members moving to Arizona, that could make it easier for you if you decide to go there one day. I certainly hope that they don't take Judge Judy with them though. ;-). Have a great weekend buddy!

I've decided not to move to Arizona. I will likely move to Hawaii after I get published. I got the 'Writer's Market 2010' edition from the library yesterday. I have to get a book on literary agents. It is difficult to get published for many as there is so much being written, but I DO have my two books DONE, and I believe within five to ten years will be published. I will have so much written by then something will be bound to get through to somebody...

Thanks drd - I know things will work out but unfortunately take time. A book set here in New England in the 1600s and early 1700s is done, as is a shorter book set maybe a century before that in mainly Canada and the Northeast. I showed Bruce those books and a third that needs to be rewritten, he said: "that was a lot of typing." I guess it was and there is a lot more handwritten I need to type into the computer. Next week I will get a back-up thumb drive to save the books on...

The waiting is the hardest part for me when I make plans!

Yes abba - waiting is not fun, but I have no choice. I am not someone with any name so it is more difficult to try to get an agent. The economy is not good either now, so the publishers tend to go with those whom they know will sell. I'm getting older, but am used to living without money and things so it is no big deal to wait. I've reached the stage now where I don't want things really, which is good so if I get published having just a really large apartment would be enough for me...
