I feel so depressed today... I keep thinking about the way my body looks and grow more and more dissatisfied with it. It's not helping that i think my boyfriend finds it unattractive. On occasion he makes comments about my eating habits and exercise regimen, when i clearly didn't ask him. It pisses me off because he eats more than I do, and has gained weight (not a lot, maybe 8 or 10 lbs) and I've lost 30! Now whenever i'm around him i feel insecure - even when I'm not around him, like right now i feel like crap. I shouldn't let this get to me, but it is and I needed to vent somewhere... anyone else have this problem before? I want to talk to him about it but I'm not sure how to go about it.

That's a tough one...I've found self-acceptance is the most difficult part of losing weight. I find it's 90% mind and 10% effort. You have a lot to be proud of after losing 30lbs! When your boyfriend comments on your eating habits or exercise, tell him you appreciate his constructive criticism but prefer to hear more praise than judgement. Let him know about your dissatisfaction with your body and that you need his support to gain appreciation for your body's accomplishments and abilities. To make this work, you've got to find peace and happiness with your body. I find that when I feel good about myself, it's easier to stick with a healthy eating plan. This inner peace exudes and eventually family, friends, co-workers, loved ones will catch on. I hope this helps. I suggest listening to the free podcast on iTunes "Inside Out Weight Loss". It's an inspiring program that has nothing to do with diets or exercise but gets to source of may be keeping you from attaining weight loss goals.

thanks for your advice, i appreciate it. I guess things have been shaky between he and I lately, and his comments aren't helping at all. I'll be sure to check out the podcast on itunes, thanks!

Keep your head up and don't worry about your boyfriend. Right now it's about you!! If you start to worry about the views and opinions you'll fall off track. Keep focused and determined to reach your goals. I know how you feel but there will be plenty of ups and downs on this journey just don't let the downs break you...
