bump98's Journal, 16 July 2010

So lunch was great. I went to Panda Express. Instead of getting my usual, I got mixed veggies (steamed) with Broccoli Beef and Mongolian Chicken. It so good and according to there nutritional data the whole meal was only 477 Kcal with the fortune cookie included. I ate with chop sticks which was a work out in its self. (Can put that on my activity log?) The fortune in the cookie really fits me right now. "Daydreams may be pleasant, but accomplishments are more satisfying". That is so fitting as threw the years I have dreamt of being thin and now I am actually doing things to get there. The accomplishments that I have made are so much more satisfying then the dreams.

That fortune was definitely appropriate! Eating with chopsticks is actually a great way to control how fast you eat, I pretty much only use them with sushi, but I think I will start using them more often. Not only will it improve my chopsticks skillz, it will force me to take my time. It also leaves open the possibility of me stopping the eating due to frustration with the chopsticks if I haven't already stopped from getting full, lol.

That sounds so good! I want some now... How is your back, btw? Feeling better?

My back is really a sore topic. HAHA. It is still spasming and I'm still stretching. A coworker talked me into taking some ibuprofen because he said I looked in pain. I don't like taking medication anymore because most NSAIDs side effects cause weight gain. I learned this the hard way taking Naproxen for a week and a half and wondered why I lost only 2 pounds in 2 weeks. As soon as I stopped taking the meds I lost 14 LBS in the next 2 weeks. Thanks for the concern it is appreciated.

Congrats on your life changing skills...a couple days ago I realized only I can change the way I eat, how active I am and how I feel. At 37 I feel as if I am 70 at times and I don't like that at all. I like your outlook. Keep up the good work work or should I say choices...your an inspiration to me. Thank you...

I love the fortune :) Isn't amazing how sometimes the healthy food can be really good? Eventually, the healthy food is simply more appealing than the gross greasy junk. At least that's where I am. We went out for pizza today and I honest to god didn't want more than one slice. Now I want chinese food. THANKS! lol

The fortune is definitely a good sign. Isn't it great when you find out dieting is not a chore, but it's actually rewarding?

I have dreamt of being thin and now I am actually doing things to get there. What a true statement. It helps me realize I have done the same thing and this time I am not "doing" another diet. I am changing my eating, adding exercise. A new way of life that will help me lose weight, get healthy and enjoy life. No more dreaming of what I can be, time to get to that person. Thanks for sharing. Have a great weekend.
