katies71's Journal, 11 February 2019

Tonight is the hungriest I've been in a while and all of my good choices went out the window. I haven't eaten this many calories in ages. I know that tomorrow is another day but I just wish that I had been smarter about it. I don't want to weigh myself tomorrow but I know that if I don't that I'll just feel even weaker than I already do. Going to bed, I will be better tomorrow and hopefully that will help.

This works for me sometimes when I feel so hungry and my attention keys in on the “poor choices”. I think about that feeling and all the thoughts you’re thinking of now... the guilt, and disappointment. I recall how negative, sad and unhappy I felt. Whenever I feel so hungry and i go to grab that bag of chips I remember... like I said it doesn’t work 100% of the time but if you can win 1 of four battles... it’s progress 😊. I have a friend that writes down the aftermath of binging and then reads it to herself whenever she feels like she may lose it. It helps her take a step back and make healthier choices.

Every day is a new day. You have a whole new set of choices for you today. Don't let one day or one meal set you totally off course. None of us are perfect! Look at things over the long term. You can do it!

Human thing to do. I just gained 7 pounds this weekend doing the same thing. I logged it all and today I am doing great (so far) :) ....and, you still lost 10 pounds since January :) Good luck!

Thanks adef...you are very good at cheering me up lol. I don't know what I would do without my FS friends...I definitely wouldn't weigh 290!

Katie I think only folks who are naturally thin and have no weight problem are the only ones who have never experienced an episode like this. I call it "when all hell breaks loose." You eat everything you can find but nothing satisfies. We all have done it more than once.

Always get right back up when you fall that is 100% the difference between success and failure! AND make sure you drink water when you want to over eat...you know your doctor told you that..I had to learn the same! When you want to just keep eating and eating drink a huge amount of water! I also started making myself a "hot cocoa" at night that is my little treat...2-4tbs half and half (depending on how many calories/carbs I have left for the day) warmed up in the microwave then mixed with boiling water, 2 tbsp hersheys special dark unsweetened cocoa, then Splenda! it's so delicious and just like cocoa! The warm fluid fills your stomach and it also feels like dessert

ps: and good job being honest with yourself..that's another big key to success..no denial or justifying...just be real with yourself when you fall and try to make a plan to help you be more successful in the future (better snacks, find binging triggers, ect)

it happens to everyone, try to stay positive and focus, is hard , but when you start feeling down, think in all the sacrifice you meda already, and how it work, and one day of cheating (eating talking🤭) is not bad
