Finally forced myself to go for a run...outside! Not sure what the difference is, what shall be accredited to this run, but I dropped about 2 minutes of my mile.

Been working on hip stability...a lot! Crossfit...quite a bit! Lots and lots and lots of kettlebell swings and squats and lifts as cardio. I have not really run since my last mud run in September except for a few 1/4 mile jogs on the treadmill, and I didn't really run much to prepare for that. The last time I tracked a mile on the treadmill, I was around 15:40, and I thought I would not make a mile before falling over. Today I ran a mile just around town (well 1.18 miles), and my mile was 13:46. I felt like I found a decent pace to continue at, hopefully my 5k goes okay, and those kettlebell swings have been doing me just as much (if not more) good than running.

That is fantastic - when are you running a 5K ?

This weekend. Although I have been reading that running outside your times will vary from a treadmill. So according to that, I have no real starting point hahaha. Especially with mud runs because most of those were uphill and torturous.

Good luck and have a blast - you will do well! I am jealous becuase you have young knees! I used to enjoy running but now I can only do a little at a time... 57 year old knees!
