So Trevorf made me think about posting my goals.

In Sept I will be going to a conference in Boston. It is a 5 hour flight. I have a First Class ticket home, but I don't want to be terribly uncomfortable in coach going out there. So my first goal is to get to 220 before the trip. I am planning on eating in Boston, of course. I figure I can work this diet until then, no problem.

My next goal is to get under 200 by my Birthday in November. I will be 45, and I would love to feel healthier. A small splurge, then back on track. I figure if I have these set points, I can make it to that day.

Then another 10 by the first of the year. Conference in Ohio.

Trip to London in April. Oh how I would love to have dropped another 25 pounds by then.

So those are my goals. looks like about 70 pounds altogether, but that just seems too huge.

I will take smaller markers.

Hey, it really made me happy to see that my posts are making you think more carefully about your goals. Here's a little trick I've talked about before, one that I do. Don't think about 70 as "too huge," think about it as 14 groups of 5 pounds. When you lose 5, think, "One down, 13 to go!" Thirteen isn't that many, right? In fact, once you kick off four of these little groups, you'll be able to count your remaining units on two hands! Just think about how satisfied you'll be when you are down to one hand! :) Also, I love to see "I can work this diet until then, no problem." That's exactly right! You can!
