Good Morning, FS Warriors! Up a pound! Oh no, what to do? FS is going to tell me that to reach my goal, it's going to take me the rest of my life. Really? I think not. I was just going to skip weighing in, and wait a couple days till the weight dropped down again, but I thought, "No, how is that going to help or encourage anyone on here if I pretend that I'm just one of the perfect ones that have no fluctuations, and never go up instead of down?" It's just not realistic. Besides, I have a pretty good idea what is going on here. Volume. I ate a big meal yesterday - on purpose, because I wanted to. There's a little tavern in town that advertises a special of "1 lb. of spaghetti for $5.00 on Thursdays." Well, there you go, curiosity got the best of me, so a lb. of spaghetti, a garden salad with ranch dressing, and a Bud Light Long Neck later, and I am stressing the shocks and springs on the minivan.

Still got up at 3:45 and did my run/walk. This was the beginning of Stage 6: Run 9 minutes/Walk 2 (x2); then run 8 minutes. I can tell I'm getting stronger. HR went up to 160 when I first started running for 5 continuous minutes. Today, even though I moved up to 9 continuous minutes, HR had only climbed to 148 at the end of the 30 minute workout. Yay! Three more days at this stage, and then the program does something a little different: I will still be running 9 continuous minutes, but I will only get a one minute walk in between runs, for four more days. No problem, bring it on! Now, all I need to do is buy some of that wonder cream they advertise on TV to make you look 20 years younger, and who will know?

Well, silly me, here I am rambling on about losing weight, when I should be working. So, in spite of the fact that it is going to be around 60 degrees outside today, I will suck it up and go back to my corporate duties, and dream of being 50 pounds lighter and running like a gazelle (but without the lion up my a$$). Well, anyway, thanks for taking the time to read this superflous nonsense. Have a great day! Toodles!

Hey DK - sure, beer w/pizza makes sense but it's too filling (never drank lite beer) and would get in the way of the pizza. AT least that was Crown Royal logic back then. A restaurant that advertises food by the pound.. that's wild. That's really targeting the 'all you can eat buffet' type crowd isn't it? I hear ya on this warm weather -- makes me want to close shop and play in the yard. Hope it holds til tomorrow. Have a good day :-)

A pound of spaghetti! Yummmm! Enjoy the warm weather while you can, I know I will be until it inevitably spikes back down to subzero temps again.

Want to say something but have too many imagines running through my head.

OMG a pound of spaghetti... Surprised you could get out of bed after that.... Let alone at that unearthly hour lol.... Good for you .

Easy now, ClassicRocker. I don't suppose you conjured up an image of a lion up my a$$? Well, to be honest, I hadn't thought of it in that light (or lack of light depending on your perspective - the lion's or mine). Folks, I can honestly say that I do not regret eating the pound of pasta; I do regret that it was the evening before weigh-in, and if I had it to do over, I might have chosen a merlot or cabernet savignon instead of the Bud Light, but that may have had more to do with the fact that it was Thursday and not Friday.

Initial thought was the gazelle carrying a plate of spaghetti. But I am more then capable of warping that. Also like your reasoning... light vs merlot.

I do respect that you have no regrets on the spaghetti and that you admit it, wrote it down so that all could see and it has not crushed your world. As always today is a brand new day and you're ready to work. Have a great one :)

See, now you have taken care of your curiosity regarding the spaghetti. Next Thursday you won't need to try it!

Hilarious journal -- thank you! Star

Yes, Cary, but there 'are' four more weekday specials. Hmmm, Fridays are "all the Walleye you can eat for $5." But the consequences, oh the consequences! Let's see: at 3,500 calories per pound, and I burn about 600 calories per hour, and it takes 5 1/2 hours to run a marathon . . . Hey, if I ran a marathon, I wouldn't even lose one pound; where's the justice in that? Better make that an O'Douls.
