Set the alarm for 3:30, but didn't get up till 4:00. Oh well, still managed to sneak in some one-mile repeats for 4 miles. Felt good to open the throttle up a bit; I've been in the cruising mode for too long. Time to get out of my comfort zone. Didn't want to overdo it; kept my heartrate at about 170 BPM. I'm still trying to dial-in where my training zones ought to be. I know my max heartrate was 194 about 8 years ago; some professional articles say that it never changes, and just as many say that it reduces about 1 Beat per minute for each year you age. So, rather than give myself a heart attack trying to find out, I'll just speculate that it's about 185 and plug those numbers into the formulas. It's not rocket science anyway, and I'm not training for the olympics. When I get so fast that the rubber on the bottom of my shoes starts to get tacky, then it may look like it's worth the effort to dial-in my HR training zones.
Well, my wife felt up to going to our church group rendevous last night, but we showed up and nobody was there. Must have missed the announcement that all church activities during the week were cancelled in preparation for Easter service. We ended up going to K-Mart. Now, I had anticipated her being weary, and not wanting to linger long. Wrong! She outdid me again, going down every isle, picking up almost everything in the store - to the point where my legs were aching. After two hours, I told her, "I've got to keep moving, I can walk all day, but this standing is killing me. You seem to be doing really good." She says, "Not really, I'm starting to get tired." :D Go figure. We left about a half-hour later.

Ha ha... Funny.... Cruising!!!! I wish I was that good at cruising... Funny how shopping ALWAYS makes men tired - unless it's for cars or electrical gadgets of course. :-)
