debrafrederick's Journal, 17 July 2016

Quiet Sunday morning, we have not had a lot going on lately due to the heat. We get home close the doors, close the blinds real tight and wait out the heat. Try not to turn on the stove too early so dinner is usually around 8. PO is quiet too, folks laying low and waiting for school to start back up the first week of August. Moos Brothers are growing like weeds, added three more hens to the flock last weekend so now getting 7 eggs a day. Bella got into an altercation with the barbed-wire fence yesterday and tore her ear so I had to do doctorin' when I got in from work. Other than that, the dog days of summer keep moving on! You guys have a fabulous Sunday!

The heat of the summer is a bit like the cold of the winter; it keeps you indoors, holed up. We went to the movies yesterday, just to get out. By mid-day, it was too hot to do anything outside. Saw a wonderful film called 'Hunt for the Wildepeople".

Lovely - fresh laid hens eggs! Sorry about your heat - hubby and I are dreading Tuesday in the south of the UK - supposed to be up to 88. I guess that's nothing for you guys across the pond!

Kathleen you don't give yourself enough credit! I have the utmost respect for your progress and can only hope that I have your fortitude when I reach your age. You are just a few years younger than my mother and if she put HALF of the effort into her day as you do she would be feeling a lot better and more able to do things that she enjoys. The older I get the more difficult it is to lose a pound, if I had found LCHF/IF ten years ago I would have been at goal in 9 months, but ten years later I am much more insulin resistant and so it's taking longer to correct it. If you add 17 more years to that equation then you have an even more difficult road and you are on a slow and steady downward trend. My hats off to you!
