Tulipgirl6's Journal, 30 December 2014

I have totally lost my direction and motivation; I don't know how to get back on track. I am not losing weight or working out. My foot's not totally better. I don't have a plan and I don't know what to do! EEEK! Bad timing too! Aren't we supposed to start the new year all revved up?

What's worse is everyone who sees me gives me compliments! oh no! I really feel like a fake. I just at a bowl of dumplings!

Anybody here done the whole30? Anybody have a simple vegetarian recipe site?

xoxo happy new year TULIP!

One thing that has helped me in the past is revisiting some food documentaries. Sometimes, they can serve as a reminder for all of the reasons you chose to make healthy changes to begin with. Favorites of mine are "Hungry For Change", "Forks Over Knives" and "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead", all available to stream on Netflix if you have it. Those movies helped me change my life. 101cookbooks dot com is a good site for vegetarian food too.

What helps me to get re-motivated, and back on track, is to revisit my journals, and food log to a time where I was losing weight. What worked for you in the past may work for you again, or at least get you back on track. Good luck, and Happy New Year!

Well, you're still here tracking and journaling so that's a start! What's next?

You will get back on track eventually. Coach Calorie (.com) has some nice tips for motivation, as well as other articles on different healthy topics. Also Coach Calorie has calculators. I like the one that breaks down the percentages for fats, carbs, and protein. There are a lot of sites that can help motivate you. Amazon has downloadable cookbooks for any type of diet plan that are usually free depending on their specials. Vegetarian is very popular. Good Luck!

Go to SkinnyTaste.com and click on Recipes. Scroll down to Vegetarian Recipes (Meatless Mondays). She has a few vegetarian recipes. Just stay away from the desserts. lol

Can you download a kindle book from Amazon? I mean, if you search through the Amazon books (some are free), maybe one will inspire you. If you haven't got a Kindle, I think you can download the app to your device, or some devices have e-reader options. :D

I have the Kindle app on my tablet and I also downloaded the Amazon app. The free app is on Goggle play. Also, there are several sites that have different recipes for the diets. Just type in the type you are looking for say "vegetarian recipes" or "Paleo recipes" and you will get a lot of options to chose. Have fun!! Happy New Year!!

we all get there eventually. What got me going again was letting go of my weight goal for a while and focusing on a fitness goal instead. I registered for a Spartan Super this summer, which is WAY out of my comfort zone, but it has got me focused again, and the fat is just falling off.

I've been having the same problem for the last week. I've been eating cookies, hungry and light-headed a lot. And o don't care about walks. Of course I've been sick, have bronchitis. And the cold weather isn't helping. Hang in there. I know this will pass.

Just don't give up. Some days are better than others. I have been sick for about a week, so haven't gone to the gym and eaten a few different things. I did go for a short walk yesterday (it was VERY cold outdoors) and am planning on going to the gym. I probably won't do my entire workout since I don't feel 100%, but small steps in the right direction will help us get there.

Thank you dear friends! Today was a hard day; what I need is a PLAN!!! I've been lurking here and not really following anything for a while for various reasons.....

You will get a PLAN....I sometimes just does not happen overnight. You are on the right track.. You know you need one, and when the time is right, it will all fall into place. Don't rush it.
