northernmusician's Journal, 29 March 2014

It's an hour and a half to weigh in time. I need to share something. ClassicRocker and I have been exchanging PMs about everything from diet to music and this song came up. This process can be so nearly intolerable and the only thing that keeps us going is our friends and our own grim determination. Don't think you can take another step? Screw that. Go to youtube, crank up the speakers and get ready. Okay it's an old song, but the lyrics are incredible and so is the song. (Organ was big back then. It's been a long time since I've heard an organ solo.) Here it is. Don't QUIT!!! "Hold your head up" by Argent.

Stand by Rascal Flatts is the first song I listen to for every workout. I love listening to Pink and Shakira too. I think I need to add some more songs to my MP3 player and this song by Argent should certainly be one of them. Thanks.

Love that song! Nice one. I'd forgotten about the organ stuff back then. In that, I always loved Ray Manzarek too : "Love Her Madly" is awesome for that rock organ. Ok... that almost sounds kinda gross.

Good song!! Yup lots of organs (really key boards) back then. Year I graduated from college. Have a stupid question. I rarely get on YouTube it say upload. So can you upload songs to a phone from there? Have just recently started using my phone for music while working out, l finally found some kids earphones that will stay in my ears, the adult ones are too big.

Not as far as I know, wholefood. Realplayer (the free version) is supposed to let you download the video to your PC. Then you can use realplayer to convert it to mp3 or apple protocols, but recently it hasn't been working.

Oh, thanks. I'm limited at the moment to a surface tablet and my iPhone, also a 2001pc that limps badly. My lap top is very sick.

Keyboards were big. But Hammonds were the organ of choice back in the 60's and early 70's. Felix Cavaliere of the Little Rascals used one and right off can't remember who else. Got a 300 sitting behind me.

Grinning...there were quite a few that used organs, saw more using keyboards on stage I think they left the organs for recording etc. Heavy bulky and sensitive critters to cart around. Went to a lot of concerts living in Boston back then. Have an awesome full sized keyboard that I keep saying I'm going to learn to play when I have time.

My taste is more along the lines of Darlene. Shakira, Pink. Though CR and I do enjoy ourselves a little Queen, don't we CR?

Absolutely. I began my journey listening to Freddy and we walked together for quite a while.
