Next week’s goal = LAY OFF THE NUTS!

I have formed a bad habit of dipping mixed nuts into peanut butter for a late evening snack. It helps my sweet tooth but not my pants size. I'm pretty sure it held me back all week. I don’t think I will show a loss when I weigh in on Sunday because of it. So, no eating nuts for me all of next week. More spinach instead!

Have a great day everyone!

Hey Brent. I eat nuts and peanut butter myself - not together though unless you count the fact that it is crunchy peanut butter... It is not for my sweet tooth though - interesting that it helps yours. I can't wait to hear if giving them up helps you. I will suggest that if you have a sweet tooth at night you should consider drinking some Soy Slender Chocolate milk. It has 1 carb and is really very tasty. I only know of WalMart selling it. It is generally with the boxed milks (not in the fridge). Wal Marts hide it in differnt places but my Walmart has it across from the Chips... Really an interesting place to put it don't you think? Anyway, a glass of that in the evening takes all my sweet cravings away. i try to to drink it every night but I could. I am trying to not give in to my Sweet addicitions so I just vary up my evenings as to not get into a habit. I don't care for the Vanilla... I loved the Cafe o lait flavor but have not seen it in months. Hope it helps.

Thanks Alex. I will look for the soy slender milk, it sounds really yummy. Bad thing is, if its actually yummy, the kids will drink it all in one day. Which is fine since its obviously better for them than the real chocolate milk. Thanks again for the suggestion, Im gonna need all the help I can get to kick the nuts. (LOL, that made me laugh.)

My snack I need to give up is Breyer's Low Carb Ice Cream. It says it's 5g of carbs per 1/2 cup, but I'm not convinced. I think I do better on weeks that I refrain from indulging in it. So, I should probably make it a once-in-a-while treat instead of an almost-every-day treat. As far as milk ... I think almond milk might be a better choice than soy milk.

My favorite thing to do with the low carb ice cream is to save some of my black coffee from the morning (in the fridge) and then pour it into the ice cream that night (along with some whipped cream). It makes a wonderful coffee ice cream flavor.

Thats sounds pretty freakin delicious Jeff. Don't think for a minute that I have not been looking in the ice cream freezers at the grocery store to see if there is a low carb ice cream. I'm kind of glad I havent found it yet. haha

Even the low carb ones are not good for you... One thing for a sweet tooth is a bit of cream cheese mized with some splenda. You can add some heavy whipping cream and some sugar free syrup to it too. It basically makes cream cheese icing. It is yummy. Also, the MIM with cocoa powder and SF syrup is yummy... add some cream cheese to that and it looks like a mess but it tastes like a brownie. I have a major sweet addiction and can tell you all kinds of ways to get a fix... I am refraining from them all because they make me not lose weight and just feed my addiction. But - if you need ideas, I have a few :) The cream cheese and splenda is a mixture that is great on the road also - you can get pots of cream cheese near the bagels and they tend to be free :)

Dang it woman, your making my mouth water! LOL Those are all great suggestions. I love sweet cream cheese. Once of the first things I made on this diet was a sugar free cheese cake. It was so yummy. I still have one piece hidden in the freezer. ;) Whats weird is that I never had a bad sweet tooth before I cut the sugar from my diet. Now my mind wants it all the time. I really hate that! Oh, what's MIM?

Oh how I love a comment that starts with "dang it woman" :) Makes me feel like I am doing my job in this world... LOL Oh - the MIM is a muffin in a minute. There are all kinds of variations on it and I Love love love them. You take 1/4 flax seed, 1 egg, 1/4 tsp baking powder. 1/4 tsp cinnamon, and 1 splenda packet. Mix them up in a coffee cup and add a tsp of butter (softened is better because it will mix better). Microwave for 1 minute. It tastes like a cinnamon muffin. You can cut it is slices and then toat them if you want. I use lots of butter on them too. OMG they are good. For dessert, you do the same thing but leave out the cinnamon... add cocoa and SF chocolate syrup plus some cream cheese in it. As I said - it looks nasty but it really has a great taste. My husband says really bad things about it when I make it but - LOL - I don't have to worry about him sneaking a bite of it. He has his donuts and I have my MIM :)

LOL! Making me hungry, guys! I used to mix ricotta cheese with any flavor DaVinci syrup and it could pass for ice cream if you were desparate for the taste. My brain is easily fooled. Ha!

Oh Guys gonna blow your mind here - Recipe for NO Carb Ice cream and it is so simple to make and Delish!- 1 cup heavy cream 1/2 cup Da Vinci sugar free syrup, any flavor (I use 1/2c of strong coffee here because I like coffee ice cream) 1tsp Sweatleaf Liquid Stevia, any flavor Mix all of the ingredients, pour into ice cube tray and freeze at least 4 hours. Once frozen, pop them out and store in a freezer baggie. Take out 1 hour before serving time. Now place the frozen ice cream cubes in a food processor with chopping blade and let them stand at room temperature about 1 hour but check the cubes after 30 minutes. If the cubes can break with a fork and there is no liquid in the bottom of the processor, begin to process until smooth and creamy. If the processor acts sluggish, add a teaspoon of water to help it. Serve at once and do not refreeze for more than a few minutes before serving. Makes 2-3 servings
