So, here I am, about 5:30 in the evening on my way home from work. I stop in to one of those gas station/convenience stores to pick up some hot dog buns because DW wants to cook some hot dogs out on the firepit. I tell her the temp is really falling and the wind is picking up. "It's OK", she says "I just walked the dog." Well, here I am; I've picked up the buns, and I've got these cravings, but I've been doing so good on the diet that I don't really want to blow it. So, I'm moving up and down the isles methodically looking for something that is relatively healthy and doesn't have 3 or 400 calories. One pass through - nothing. Another - nothing again. I've gone through all 5 or 6 isles slowly maybe 5 or 6 times, and finding nothing. This has probably taken me 25 minutes. It seems like a customer strolls in like once every time I pass through all the isles. The guys behind the counter are watching me, and I'm thinking they've got their fingers on the button. I'm sure they're thinking I'm casing the joint, ready to clean out their cash register - just about the time another customer walks through the door. Finally I pick up a package of corn nuts - 220 calories; best I could find after all of that. I pay and leave. They probably figure there were just enough customers to keep me from springing into action. LOL! I get about 5 minutes from home, and the skies just open up - pouring rain, lightening, wind howling. I call DW. She says, "I was just out and I think the temp is falling." I say, "I guess no cookout?" She says, "No." I say, "I think it would be too hard to light; it's raining so hard I can hardly see where I'm driving." So, we cooked out on the stove in the kitchen - using real pans and all.
I'll be in Texas a week from this coming Tuesday. I get to fly the airlines that have had all the seats coming loose. Makes me wish I was a paratrooper again - safer to jump out than come down with the plane. Oh well, they can kill me but they can't eat me. Now, if I was flying into the jungles of Borneo, I might be a little more worried. Do they still have headhunters? Hmmm. Don't really want to know.
The weight is coming off pretty good again. I've been waiting until I got below 230 again to start running and exercising. I get plenty of lifting and walking during my normal daily routines; I just don't get the aerobic activity. Sex isn't an option while DW is going through these treatments, but that would only account for an hour or so every day anyway. :)
Well, got to go. I know how busy everyone is here, and I don't want to keep you, reading all this rhetoric and all. So, have a great and glorious evening, and I'll check in with you all in the morning. Toodles!
