Soup that brings the nice taste of ham to the great taste of peas for a explosive soup.
Ingredients
Directions
- Chop onion and ham steak, add olive oil to pan, sauté onions for 5 minutes.
- Add peas, stock and seasonings to pan. Bring to boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmers stirring occasionally for 30 minutes.
- Cook ham steak until brown and cooked through.
- When pea mixture is done, add mixture to a blender and add half & half, puree until desired consistency (more half & half can be added to adjust). Empty blender contents back into pan.
- Add cooked ham to the mix, and stir in good. Ready to serve.

I am not a huge fan of Split Pea, but for my St. Patrick's Day celebration it was spot on. I just wished I had soaked the beans longer. It tasted better the next day.
