Started beginning year 2010. My starting weight was 290. As of end of March I am down near 255. A loss of 35 pounds or almost 12 lbs per month. I know this is not sustainable and am looking to lose about 6 pounds a month on average. My goal is by March of 2011 to be at or near my goal of 180 lbs.

I have equipment at home and exercise 5-6 times a week in the early morning. I have also joined a Gym, Lifetime Fitness, in March and have been going in the evenings or daytime hours 4-5 times a week. I am also working with my family to insure that we do additional activities to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Since January I have also been working very hard to eat the right foods in the correct amounts. I find this hard as I love to cook and love to eat. For the most part I have done well and have included more healthy foods and recipes into my daily routine.

I have also become much more active around the house. This has helped my wife, kids, and I to maintain a house we are all proud off and as a side benefit I am also burning more calories.

I am new to journaling but will attempt to write down my thoughts daily so as to motivate myself along this grand journey of change and realization.
