My limiting beliefs
I'm going to do some pen and paper work on this, but after reading a message on the IOWL yahoo group from another member, I think one of my most disabling limiting beliefs is that "I have so much potential." The implication being that I'm wasting it. I heard that so much growing up, and I really internalized that message.
I'd like to approach life like I approached sports when I was playing soccer or ultimate frisbee--leave everything out on the field. If walking to the car after a match wasn't difficult, I had room to play harder the next game. I never beat myself up over that, I just knew that I still had some reserves and they weren't doing me any good holding on to them. If I needed to work harder to do my part to win a game, I could. My last season playing left fullback, there were no shots on goal taken from my side of the field. I played hard and smart and I left everything out on the pitch when I needed to.
I want to know what it feels like to leave everything out on my professional "pitch" and my non-competitive sports "pitch."
