Man, I like to eat. So much so, that I found myself at 247 pounds a couple of years ago. For a 5' 11" out-of-shape dude, that's too heavy. I halfheartedly tried to "eat less" for a year and only came down about 13 pounds so I decided I needed to get a little more serious about it. My plan was simply to stay under 2000 calories a day for 6 days a week and cut out (most) processed food.
Update: I met my first goal of 180 pounds, and have now decided to lower my goal a bit to 170. I adjusted my RDI to 1900 (I go over 2000 a day or so a week, but otherwise stay under 1900 usually anyway), and plan to allow myself to go over once every OTHER week. I also need to start working some exercise in, but have been dragging my feet about that...
Update 2: Goal 2 met! Yeah, I really should get on that exercise thing soon.
