Hi! It's one year later so I updated the year stuff in this bio but everything still is the same. When I stopped recording things I was much lighter than I am now, so I set a new start weight and date although I am happy to see that I am still at less than my all-time high --- my original start weight on this site.
I am a woman who now owns 65 years (do you like how I avoided the "old" in that sentence?). And soon to be 66. Never had weight problems until I started having children. I was born and raised in Chicago and suburbs (southeast side). I have lived my last 27 years in rural Wisconsin. It's a far cry from Chicago! I miss my friends and family from Illinois - which is silly because none of them live where they used to back then! Life goes on!!!
I am a R.N. by profession, and will officially be considered "retired" in a few months.
I've fought the ups and downs of this weight battle for years. My ex asked for a divorce and cited my weight as one of his top reasons (he was "embarrassed"). Nice, right? Oh well - as with most marriages we had our ups and downs. I prefer to remember the "ups"!
I was on some serious weight-gaining medicines and finally stopped them all this past January. However I still grapple with serious physical limitations which makes any kind of exercise difficult - except swimming, which isn't exactly convenient to do.
I'm not a "write everything down" person, which gets me into some problems - i.e. WHERE did this extra 10lbs come from??? But humor got me to now and humor I will stick with!!!
I'm here - I'm usually a pretty upbeat person. Looking for some "buddies" to give and get encouragement. So say hi, introduce yourself - I love people and would love to make some new friends!
