I am 57 going on 58 this summer. I study as a passion and a career change. I have lived abroad for decades and speak several languages. My two children are here in Europe, one is in Italy and the other is in London. I get to see the London one at least once a month when I go up for my clinical training courses. My marriage is happy and thriving though we just found out that I am not the only one who has lost work. My husband's work place is closing by March.... we just found out yesterday. More reason to tighten the purse strings and eat even more simply. I am a philosopher and I read a lot..... LOTS. I also love some cable TV dramas and have bought some box sets to watch while I trundle along on the treadmill. The damp evening air does not attract me to do outside work outs. I swim in the sea when I can, even out of season because I am fully equipped with a wet suit and other useful items that allow me to stay in 30 to 50 minutes out of season ocean water. I hope to start up aikido again soon. I have started studying BSL (British Sign Language)and I love it. I do not think I will ever be able to do my work in it but at least I hope to understand many other aspects of the Deaf community. So much like being a foreigner in one's own country... just like the book title, eh? I love computering, knitting, writing, studying, music, photography (I shoot the promo stuff for my husband's band Zen Bicycle Band), visiting new places. I wish I could travel more but I have had my fair share really, and I love the view from my home over the channel.
