Up a bit from last weigh in. I'm not upset (which is new for me). I knew this time with the small incremental changes and experimentation that there would be ups and downs. I overdid it this weekend with processed carbs. Biscuits and gravy are my husband and step son's favorites. I'm going to try almond flour next time but so uncertain as to whether that will work and how. I switched to Ezekiel bread which is delicious, not sure if that makes a difference. I did notice that while the bread I had been buying has a similar nutritional label, the ingredients are wildly different. The Ezekiel bread gets its protein from sprouted grains, the orowheat bread has added whey protein. The orowheat has added sugar, raisin juice concentrate, and molasses, the Ezekiel bread has no added sugar. Also, the fancy scale says I lost fat and gained muscle, FWIW.

The fancy scale is telling me that my muscle and bone density is going down and my fat composition is going up. Maybe I am not eating enough food. I'm going to continue to watch it for another week before freaking out.

IF is becoming easier, maybe too easy. I need to remember to eat. It saves me so much time in my day by not eating after 5pm. Until I tried IF, I didn't realize how much or how often I was snacking. I'm still reading The Obesity Code and freaking out about just how bad sugar is and it is in EVERYTHING. Plus it made a lot of sense when the book talks about how obesity is not about calories, it's about insulin. This is why no one ever got thin by switching from regular soda to diet soda. This book makes me want to become a scientist. In a way, I am. I am experimenting on myself. I've gotten lazy about journaling my food, will try to do better going forward.

I got a fancy scale that measures my body composition. the old scale had a corner shattered for about a year and just stopped working about 2 months ago, even with new batteries. I figure if I'm going to give this a go, might as well have some fun. It even syncs with bluetooth to an app on my phone.

I'm reading The Obesity Code by Jason Fung. So far, I'm thinking this should be classified in the horror section of a bookstore, not health and wellness, lol. I hope it has a happy ending.
