Hi everyone, I'm new to this site, but I thought I'd hang out awhile. I've seen some great tips so far, and it's inspiring to see so many people doing well in the battle to lose.
I've been overweight since I was a child. The usual, lose, gain, lose, gain. I've been married for 12 years and we have a 9 year old daughter. I've been a stay-at-home Mom for the past 2 years, but I'm starting a new job Nov.1.
This past July, I stood up and fainted. That scared me, so I went to see a new doctor ( I never bothered with doctors unless I was really sick ). The doctor told me I have high blood pressure, high glucose, and basically am a heart attack waiting to happen.
I came home from the appointment after getting my test results and decided it was time to start taking care of myself. Since then, I have lost 24 pounds. I stopped drinking soda, I now eat vegetables and fruit, no sweets ( except a tiny bit of dark chocolate daily:)) and I drink tons of water.
I am still 50 pounds from my goal weight, but I am learning a new way of living.
