Fall is upon us. I have started making more soups, chilis and stews. I freeze them to have easy to heat meals when I want. This summer of CV-19 has been interesting, but my weight has remained constant, mostly just under 220. Not as good as a couple of years ago when I got down to 204, but may be a more natural weight for me. I have been mountain biking all summer, and I can feel the increase in my muscle mass in my legs and surprisingly in my arms. The downside to the biking has been a feeling of hunger that indulge to much. There were a couple of weeks where I let my weight get up into the mid 220's, but by tracking, I regained control. My goal weight when I started this process three years ago was 226 (on the CDC prevent T2 program). Although I attained that by following the program, and more, I have let one of the core tenets lapse in my diet control. That is, I am not tracking my fat intake at this time. When I started the program, my fat intake was about 150 grams a day. I worked to get that averaged down to 50 fat grams a day, and the weight came down, and rather fast. This summer, I have been enjoying ice cream, cheese, nuts, and butter too much, so I would estimate that I am back to that 150 grams a day level again. I will start to use this on-line version of fat secret to really look at my weekly diet again and make the adjustments needed.
