Dixie S's Journal, 07 October 2019

I started this weight loss before I signed up on this site. I originally weighted 237 pounds on July 23rd. I'm now 212 pounds. I know I have to pace myself because I have a long way to go in order to get down to 150 lbs. But its a day at a time. I try not to think of the long road ahead. I take this in 24-hour increments which is far more manageable. If I fall off the horse, the most important thing is to get back on. I've incorporated the belief that I WILL have days when I fall way off the horse and its just part of life. There are special occasions, holidays or just plain days when I can't tolerate another low point day. But all in all, I've varied the things I eat so that I'm eating things that I know I can eat and like when I'm maintaining my new weight.

April 2020 will get here before we know it. I can find myself at that point at my goal weight of 150 or I can be disappointed in myself once again and not follow my plan. I want to keep faith with myself in order to trust that I can make a decision and stick to it. And the biggest prize in all this? Yes, I'm feeling better and looking better....but the very best part of this is to NOT HAVE THAT MENTAL OBSESSION OF JUNK FOOD. I hate being controlled by the obsession and once I started eating healthfully, I lost the junk food thing. I know by experience that I will have days when it comes back strongly. If I give in on those days, I feel that I can get back on track. THAT'S FREEDOM!!!
212.0 lb Lost so far: 18.0 lb.    Still to go: 52.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

thanks! One of my best friends, who lives in Ohio, and I support each other in this journey. We talk every day and keep each other motivated. It really helps to have people you're supporting and who support you.
