so I carefully chose from the menu At Mimi's and still the lunch was 600 calories. I feel good about my choices and had a great time with some friends that I hadn't seen for quite a while. My knees are sore from when I walked and ran the last time I exercised. I wanted to be able to go a distance and build stamina but ended up hurting the joints and bruising my big toes (shoes were too small). They are 1/2 black under the nail. I really need to get better shoes if I am going to do more of the walk run scenario. I had fun with the walk and run process. I just want to be sure I don't do serious damage to my joints.The muscles are fine, but the joints and the inside of my knees are another story. I will have to go more gradually than I have in the past. I know my whole body will be happier when I get to my goal weight. I am happy I am on this path with many other FS people moving toward better health. J

Very motivational journal, thank you. I also hurt myself overdoing walking the other day. Sore feet and limping because of my ankle, but better after a day of rest. Glad I'm not the only one. I KNOW it will be better with less weight and skinnier feet! Thanks for sharing.

Feeling good about your choices will keep you motivated but please be careful not to over-do it. Much better to do enough & be able to continue on for another day than to do too much & need to stop because of injuries. Please take care of those blackened toenails....thats a worry!
