My sis in law had her knee replaced 6 weeks ago. She is 80 lbs overweight. Lost 25 for the surgery. it is crucial (according to her PT) that you follow instructions for your physical therapy immediately after surgery. Yes it is painful. To retain your original range of motion you must comply for the first 2-3 weeks. She is now (6 weeks later) walking without a cane and improves daily. Only has issues if she walks to much in a day. Hang in there! YOU GOT THIS!

Try intermittent fasting. Look up Ekberg and Berg on You Tube. I’ve lost over 30 pounds since 1/1. Plus the diet with fasting helps with arthritis.

You are going to feel so much better after the initial physical therapy appts post surgery. This should really help you improve mobility and weight loss. Yay for you!!! Unfortunate it is so young but who knows? My uncle had both knees done over 20 years ago simultaneously and they are still holding up great. He is 80 now and very mobile.
