Hooray, down 1-1/2 pounds this morning! Day #43. Weight 205.5 (down from 259 at the beginning of the year). 53.5 pounds lost. Only 6.5 pounds left to drop and two weeks left to do it. This could still go either way, but I still have faith that God will empower me to reach the goal by June 27th. My faith is in tact, but it is a little shaky. It's at least the size of a mustard seed though. Jesus says that's all it takes to be able to move a mountain. My "mountain" of fat, is being slowly chiseled away.
It's brilliant how God designed our bodies to store fat. For 43 days, that's the only "fuel" there has been to power all my autonomous bodily functions - breathing, heart beating, sight, smell, hearing, etc. That's also been the sole source of fuel to power every ounce of actual voluntary effort I've put forth - cleaning the pool, doing the dishes, going to the grocery store, vacuuming, playing with the grand kids, reading, carrying on conversations, posting on FS!
When I've gotten down to 199, I MAY continue the fast for a few more days, since I know I will almost instantly put back on 8-10 pounds just in water retention, glycogen stores, and food in my digestive tract. It would be nice if, after those gains, I could STILL weigh under 200 pounds. Notice I said I MAY do that! I still have a powerful urge to return to eating delicious foods, and "the force is strong with this one."
With protective mandates being loosened, I hope people will return to GOING to church (instead of just quitting, or watching it on television). Fellowship with other believers is an important part of the worship experience. Now, more than ever, we all need the Lord in our lives and in our country.
