The Bad: I overate on both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday, it was a Mexican combo plate and an ice cream cone. Sunday, it was a half a large thin-crust pizza from Papa Murphy's. It was delicious (chicken, bacon, artichoke, spinach) so I didn't stop myself.
The Good: I've read more of my sugar detox book, so I'm starting to feel evangelized. (As a graphic designer, I hate the font they used for this book. The print is too small, light, and difficult to see, and the single-column format makes it hard to scan the pages quickly. So I'm not reading it in bed. Probably should have gotten the e-book version.) I'm not a fan of the motivational-speakery tone in some of the sections, but I have found the info about how sugar affects hormones to be clearly explained and enlightening. I need these reminders that sugar and refined carbs are poisonous, and every bit as addictive as nicotine. At least with cigarette smoking, there's some deterrent in the noxious smell and social stigma. Sugar addiction is practically encouraged at every turn.
Woke up at 6:18 this morning feeling refreshed and clear-headed. My goal today is to tidy up my office, stay away from sweets, and keep reading my book.
