3rd day in a row below 195. Feeling pretty spiffy. Also, I achieved a record new time on my hike today. I've been adding in some sprints and what used to take me 35 mins round trip only took 26 mins. All those voices from my childhood and teen years telling me that I am not a "natural" at running, or it wasn't something I was "meant to do" can kiss my butt. I've been listening a great deal to podcasts from runners, maranthoners, Ultrathoner's, and triathletes and they are correct when they say that "Running is our birthright as humans." It's why we shed our fur, developed sweat glands, and stood upright. We may not be the fastest animals on the planet but we can out last every one of them in length of time we can go. So I may be slow but I'm finding myself nearly craving the running part. It's odd in a way. I guess I wouldn't be quite so excited about it except that now that I am both WFPB and BLE I am PAIN FREE. Zero pain ever. My Crohn's is in remission and I'm off my medication (thanks WFPB) but all joint pain and recovery time have dissipated as well since giving up the flour and sugar (BLE eating). Ok, my testimony is over. Have a great Thors-day everyone. Keep on fighting the good fight.
